Harmony in Love. Matchmaking. FAQ 61-73.
Look for the Mr.Right,
Not for just a "mister"...
Frequently Asked Questions.
61. What does the "Invalid Email Address" message mean?
When you registered with eHarmony you gave us an email address. We use this address to send you match notifications and important account information. We automatically check to make sure that this email address is valid, and our check has shown that the email address you supplied is not receiving email at this time.
You can enter a different email address on this screen and click CONTINUE to proceed into eHarmony. If you believe that the email address you supplied is valid you can select NO OTHER EMAIL ADDRESS AVAILABLE. This will allow you to proceed into eHarmony without changing your current address. You will need to visit our CONTACT US page and contact our Customer Care team to try and resolve the email discrepancy.
Once you log in to eHarmony you can change your email address at anytime. From the My Matches page click on MY ACCOUNT and then scroll down to the email address box. If you do make a change, be sure to click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the page.
If you are using a spam blocker you will need to put eHarmony on the "allow" list.
We'd also like to add that eHarmony will never, ever, sell, rent, loan, swap or distribute your email address to any company or individual for any reason. The email address you supply will be used only by us to contact you regarding your eHarmony account.
62. How do I change my password?
You can change your password by logging in to your eHarmony account with your existing username and password and clicking the MY ACCOUNT tab at the top of the My Matches page. There will be two boxes for the password, and you will need to change your password in both of these boxes. Once you have changed your password in both boxes, be sure to click on the "Save Changes" button.
63. How do I close a match?
The reason you are not seeing a status icon is because you have reached the Open Communication stage with your match. Now that you have reached Open
Communication, the only time you will see a status icon is when you receive a new message from your match.
You can check to ensure that your message was sent to your match successfully by clicking on the OPEN COMM link next to your match's name, and then the SENT MESSAGES link. If you see your message in this area, it was sent successfully. If you do not see your message here, then it was not sent.
64. Your system is not accepting my Canadian postal code.
When entering a Canadian postal code in the eHarmony system, the user must enter a space between the first 3 characters and the last 3 three characters.
Format should look like this: N8S 1P9
65. How do I edit my occupation?
To edit your occupation, please log in to your eHarmony account and select the ABOUT ME tab. The occupation field is right under the height field near the top of the page. 67. I get an internal error when I zoom on my match's photo.
We apologize if you are unable to zoom in on the photos of your matches. Most likely this is not possible because of the settings in some software on your computer. Many computers come with anti-pop-up software that blocks certain types of content from being zoomed in on. And if you have an internet service provider that comes with a pop-up blocker (such as AOL), you may not even be aware that you have it.
To be able to zoom in on your eHarmony photos, please find out which software you have that is limiting pop-ups, and make sure to add "eHarmony.com" to a list of safe or "allowed" sites within that software.
68. I have a broken link in an email you sent me.
We apologize that this link did not work for you. Our tech team knows about this issue and is working to fix it--in the meantime, you may access your account by going to www.eharmony.com directly and logging into your account from there.
1) Go to our homepage of www.eharmony.com
2) Put your username and password in the appropriate boxes near the bottom of the page (do NOT click on Start Now).
3) Click on "Login".
4) You will be brought to the My Matches page and will be able to access match information from there. If you don't see a match listed, please click on the "see more" link to find that match's name.
69. What is eHarmony's physical address?
Our Address is:
eHarmony
300 North Lake Avenue
Suite 1111
Pasadena, CA 91101
70. Is your site secure?
Our site uses Verisign security, some of the best software in the business, to keep all your information completely safe from intrusion. You can view our Verisign seal of approval on the Homepage.
It is normal to receive a security message while navigating the site. This message is just to inform you that you are moving from a secure area in our site (where your sensitive information is stored i.e. billing information) to a non-secure area (such as your match settings).
71. Is my information kept private?
You should read our Privacy Statement for all the details, but in short, we value your privacy and security as much as you do. eHarmony is a licensee of the TRUSTe privacy program and the Better Business Bureau. The information you provide on our questionnaire will never be made available to any entity outside the scope of the eHarmony service. We will never give your personal data to a third party organization. Although the people we match you with will learn about you through some of the information you provide, this will be kept anonymous until you decide otherwise. In addition, we are using state-of-the-art security systems to guard against possible intrusion. We want eHarmony to be a safe experience for you. However, always use common sense when exchanging information with others. Remember that once you relinquish your anonymity it is very hard to get it back.
Please read all of our user agreement and follow the guidelines we offer at every stage of a relationship's development.
72. How do I get started?
Using eHarmony is easy but it takes a bit of a commitment from you to make it work. It will take about 45 minutes to complete the questionnaire that is needed for the matching system to effectively search for a match. You may stop during the questionnaire and save your work, so you can return later and finish. Just click on the "Start Now" link from the eHarmony home page at www.eHarmony.com.
73. What is the Relationship Starter Package?
Your Relationship Starter Package (a $35 Value) is included with our 12-Month Membership to help you make the most of your eHarmony experience. It is only available with a full-price membership to residents of The U.S. or Canada.
